A two day “Excellence in Store Operations (ESOps)”, a Management Development Programme (MDP), was organized by Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) along with Retailer’s Association of India (RAI). The workshop was conducted on 14th October 2015 & 15th October 2015 at JIMS, Rohini, Sector -5 campus.
The event opened with Lighting of the lamp by Dr. J. K. Goyal, Director, JIMS, Mr. Pradeep Katyal, COO, Ritu Kumar, Ms. Suranjana Basu, North Head, Retailer’s Association of India (RAI), Dr. Ashok Bhagat, Dean, PGDM- International Business and Ms. Surbhi Jain, Dean, PGDM- Retail & Marketing, JIMS. It was followed by the Inaugural speech of Dr. J. K. Goyal, Director, JIMS and the floral welcome of Guest of Honors. The session was attended by over sixty delegates from around 15 Retail Organizations like Madhura Fashion & Lifestlye, Jack & Jones, Only, VIP, Religare etc. Fifteen PGDM-RM students got the opportunity to participate in the workshop.
The Program focused on the means of achieving great retail performance by virtue of enhancing store productivity and store profitability. The Program was a learning platform for Retail Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers, Department Managers, Independent Retailers & Retail Managers who have a desire to imbibe and adopt proven best practices.
On the first day, workshop included “Workshop on Store Manager - a mini CEO: Understanding Roles & Responsibilities” by Mr. Pradeep Katyal, COO, Ritu Kumar; “Managing Store Profitability” by Mr. Sanjeev Kingar , Area Controller, Shoppers Stop and Instore Visual Merchandising by Ashmit Alag, Principal Director, Transform Group.
On the second day, workshop included session on “Sustainable Store Operations Practices” by Dr. Manish Chandekar, Technical Expert from CII; “Local Store Marketing & Catchment Area Analysis” by Ms. Kanika Pahwa, Head of Marketing- North Region, Max, Lifestyle International and “Understanding Buying & Merchandising & Inventory Management in the Store” by Mr. Kritidipta Lahkar, Director - Kids Apparel, Jabong.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Surbhi Jain, Dean (PGDM-Retail & Marketing), JIMS who extended a warm gratitude to all the speakers and participants. The certification ceremony was conducted by Mr. Kritidipta Lahkar and Ms. Surbhi Jain along with representative from RAI.
The MDP received an overwhelming response from the participants.
