The panel discussion on Career Aspirations tookplace on 16 January 2021 with Alumni’s as our panelist. The objective of the discussion was to provideour students with better career guidance by the professionals who were once intheir shoes. Panel included three Alumni’s – Mr. Mayank Sahni, Sr. DataAnalyst, Stanza Living (BBA,2012-15 batch), Mr. Ankush Kharbanda, SalesAnalyst, Shiprocket(BBA,2012-15 batch), Mr. Vaibhav Vasant Ojha, Japan ServiceDesk Analyst, Accenture, Malaysia(BBA,2015-18 Batch) and Dr. ParminderBajaj(Professor,JIMS) as Moderator.
The Session started with the welcome Addressby Dr. Praveen Arora (Dean, GGSIPU affiliated program, JIMS)
Mr. Vaibhav Vasant Ojha, Accenture initiated the discussion by sharinghis insights about the Job opportunities available after completing BBA. Healso expressed his views on the importance of doing foreign languagescertification along with graduation degree and further guided them about joboption which can be explored after these certifications.
Mr. Mayank Sahni, Stanza Living discussed about higher educationoptions available in India and Abroad and also guided them a step further onhow to prepare for CAT, MAT GMAT etc. He also shared his experience and journeyfrom a management graduate to data Analyst. He further talked about thecertifications based on the profile of an Analyst.
Mr. Ankush Kharbanda, Shiprocket added to the discussion by talkingabout what all opportunities are available after completing graduation in thefield of Sales, Marketing HR, Finance etc. He also guided the students on differentcertification the student can do along with their graduation to enhance theirCV.
Dr. Parminder Kaur Bajaj,Professor, JIMS moderated the session successfully and she furtherhighlighted the importance of MOOCs courses and the platforms available likeCoursera, EDx, Swayam, Udemy etc. Shethen opened the floor for Question and Comments.
The students activelyparticipated in the discussion by clarifying their doubts on career related queries.Several participants asked about more information related to certificationcourses available.
Overall session had been verythought-provoking as it explored various dimensions of higher education, Jobopportunities, additional certification etc. Finally, Dr. Parminder concludedthe session by acknowledging the contributions of the panellists and audiencemembers and also presented a formal Vote of Thanks.
