An online three day MDP on the topic ‘Introduction to R software and data Analysis using R’ was organized by JIMS, Rohini, Delhi from 21st December,2020 to 23rd December,2020. The purpose was to equip the participants with Introduction to R Software, data types and basic operations in R, managing data and analyzing data in R.
The resource person Mr. Sunny Seth is currently working as an Assistant Professor, Mathematics in the Management Department of Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Sector-5, Rohini, Delhi. He is M.Sc. Mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and has qualified Joint CSIR-UGC NET in Mathematical Sciences.
During this 3 day workshop, participants were initially given the overview of various features of R-studio and related software. They were demonstrated with different statistical theories and their respective functions on R studio. Later participants practiced hands-on themselves on the data provided to them.
The topics covered during these 3 days included Creating vectors, matrices and data frames in R, Functions and Control Structures in R, Managing data in R, Descriptive Statistics, Data Visualization (Basic Plots), Hypothesis Testing: Parametric Tests, ANOVA and ANCOVA, Correlation and Regression Analysis (Simple and Multiple)
Overall, it was highly useful to the participants who learnt by practicing on the R studio software.
The 3 day workshop concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr.Sumesh Raizada, Professor, JIMS and Coordinator for the program.
