The newly joined students of PGDM-Retail Management (batch -2020-22) in their first ever alumni session, were fortunate enough to meet Mr Jeetu Wadhwani, H&M Store Manager (PGDM-RM alumnus batch 2011-13). and Ms. Vidhi Sethi, Client Executive at NIIT Ltd. & Founder of “Nazaakat Waali” (PGDM-RM alumnus Batch 2016-18). The experience and wisdom shared by them during the session was precisely what was needed by the students to get motivated for the next two years.
Vidhi was the first speaker, who did some ice breaking to make the students comfortable with them. She shared her experience of her journey at JIMS. She highlighted the importance of participating in various events in the institute and how these events prepare the students for their professional life. She had a way of talking that students could resonate with.
Jeetu shared his experience of PGDM days and highlighted that when he started his PGDM-RM programme, he was an introverted person and here at JIMS he got an opportunity to explore himself to an extent that he could publicly speak by the time he completed the PGDM programme. He had 7 years of experience in the fashion industry and gave core knowledge of the sector and various skill sets required for the industry.
One common knowledge they both gave to the students was the importance of networking and relationship building. The one skill that not only helps in professional life but personal life as well. The session was not a lecture but more of an interaction between students and alumni.
