Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini, Delhi organised a day long HR Summit 2019 on the theme ‘Future of Work: Revisiting People, Profiles & Practices’ for management students on October 19, 2019 at India Habitat Center, Delhi. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and HR fraternity. The participants witnessed discussions from industry stalwarts on array of topics ranging from hiring, retention, technology and growth with focus on millenials. The event started with a welcome address by Dr Pooja Jain, Director, JIMS, Rohini, Delhi where she set the pace right by introducing the theme. The first panel discussion on ‘The changing landscape of hiring’ had experts brainstorming on the relevance of traditional hiring tools and shifting hiring preferences of companies and novel ways of assessing skills, attitude and knowledge of talent. The panelists for the session Mr. Vikas Dua, Vice President (HR) Aegis; Mr. Srinivas Reddy P., Director, TA Metlife, Mr. Subhankar Ghose, Chief HR Officer, ROI Net Solution, Ms. Kamalika Deka, HR Leader, Business Communicator & TEDx Speaker, talked about how technology has become an enabler for faster and accurate hiring.
The second panel discussion on Millenials: A force to reckon started with a skit by JIMS students on millenials idea of Corporate life. Mr. Sahil Nayar, Senior Associate Director, HR, KPMG along with co-panelists Ms. Lakshmi Kumaran, Group GM, Marketing, coordination & Branding MRPL and Mr. Pradeep Pahal, Vice President & Head HR, India (Business Services) & Global Head, Talent Management (Business Services), Cape Gemini gave meaningful insights in changing workplace and cultures according to millenials. Audience participation and cheerful engagement were the key highlights of the session.
In the third session on ‘The technology making inroads’, speakers shared their own experiences with technology and how due to automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning the industry is evolving , jobs are redesigned. The panelists Mr. Neeraj Narang, Director-HCM, Product Strategy; Mr. Mohd. Tabrez Khan, Head (HR) MB Information ,Mr. Sandeep Tyagi, Director (Human Resources), Samsung Electronics, Ms. Megha Gupta, Director (Human Resource), Fiserv focussed on changing dynamics of hiring decisions and technology aiding candidate selection.
The event was a huge success and got tremendous participation and reviews from the participants.
