Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini, Sector-5, Delhi organized a pre placement activity on Tuesday, 03 September 2019 in its premises on the topic “Understanding Industry Expectations”.
The event was planned and organised in order to create an understanding about industry expectations among students. The resource person for the session was Mr Mohit Sharma. He is Regional Head- Asia Pacific at FranGlobal. He has done M.Sc in International Strategic Marketing from University of Glasgow, UK
Mr. Mohit Sharma enlightened the students much about how the industry works and what are the opportunities and challenges the students will have to face once they enter the industry. He spoke about learning vs working; and emphasised that these should go hand in hand. Further, he added that one needs to have the knowledge as well as skills in order to enter the job market. He even discussed about the challenges faced by students and how to overcome them. He also gave them an insight about the various skills that students need to develop in order to prepare themselves according to industry expectations.
In the end, he stated, "Everything cannot be taught, but everything can be learned".
Students displayed lot of enthusiasm and interest. The event was further concluded by a Q&A session.
