Jagan Institute of Management Studies organized one-day MDP on ‘Developing Leadership Potential’ on 9th March’2019 at its Rohini campus. The key resource persons for the MDP were: Prof. S.C. Kapoor and Dr. Neelam Dhall. Prof. Kapoor took the first session on ‘Discovering one’s Leadership Style’ wherein he discussed the concept of leadership and diverse styles of leadership prevalent in the corporate world. He also emphasized the need for leadership competencies through a video showing glimpses of prominent business leaders worldwide.
The second and third session of the MDP were conducted by Dr. Neelam. During the second session, she enlightened the participants on the concept of Emotional Intelligence and it’s role in Leadership Effectiveness through a highly engaging session. In the third session, Dr. Neelam shared her insights on ‘Enhancing Leadership potential through Transactional Analysis’. As part of this session, she explained the concepts of ego-states, types of transactions and psychological games through practical inputs and contextual videos. All through these sessions, self-assessment tests were conducted which helped the participants discover their true leadership potential, decision-making styles, respective EQ scores and diverse aspects of their persona. Based on comprehensive analysis of individual scores, the resource team provided specific suggestive measures to each participant towards leadership development.
The last session was jointly conducted by Prof. Kapoor and Dr. Neelam wherein the concepts of ‘Team Dynamics’ and ‘Risk Taking’ were clarified through an exciting management activity. It was an action-packed session wherein participants appeared totally charged up and displayed their intense competitive streaks throughout the activity. Once the activity was over, Dr. Neelam concluded the session with inputs on ‘Tricks of Situational Leadership’ by sharing corporate cases & anecdotes.
The programme was attended by participants from organisations such as Atlas Cycles, Abbott, Divine Innovation, Pinaki Research, PVR Cinemas, The Andragogy Consulting House, to name a few. The programme concluded with distribution of certificates to participants and a group photograph. Overall, participants gave an excellent feedback of the programme and acknowledged the valuable learnings acquired by them during the MDP.
