Retail Store visit activity for PGDM RM students

A student aspiring to enter management profession must have practical knowledge to enhance the classroom learning. A retail store visit activity was conducted for PGDM RM students to gain insight on the fundamentals learnt in the class to compliment the marketing management syllabus. Students were divided into groups and were asked to visit various retail shops in order to discuss marketing strategies planned, executed and evaluated the stores. Students had interaction with the shop-keepers and asked them about various sales/marketing related questions. Some key learnings from the activity were-

•relevance of store location

•customers’ increasing preference for branded products over non-branded ones even if they have to pay a little extra

•the stores focus not only on carrying the advertised products but also give preference to the products which customers demand

•Significance of promotion inside store

•home delivery service and modern payment methods

The students submitted a detailed report of their visit along with the pictures to Ms. Yukti Ahuja, faculty, Marketing Management.
