Our memories of yesterday will last a lifetime. We will take the best, forget the rest, and someday will find that these are the best of times.
JIMS organized farewell for MCA batch 2013 -2016 on 30th April, 2016, Saturday at the front lawn. The event witnessed the august presence of Dr. JK Goyal, Director –JIMS, Dr. VB Agarwal, Director Infotech department and the entire teaching and non-teaching staff.
The front lawn looked beautiful with the colorful polka balloons, selfie corner and flex boards, beautifully lit with LED lights all around. The event started with an energetic performance by a ‘girls-duo’ performance. This was followed by calling out students on the stage for the distribution of special titles such as ‘Mr. Computer Maestro’, ‘Ms. Beautiful Smile’, ‘Mr. Hunk of the Town’ and many more. Students were enjoying snacks and drinks while enjoying the evening celebrations. The coordination team had arranged for innumerous fun activities for the audience coupled with chocolates as token of appreciation. This was followed by awarding the winner of ‘Mad moment @ JIMS’ contest which was being run on the official MCA farewell page for ten days.
The evening saw many emotions – while some students were busy clicking selfies, some were enjoying the customized souvenirs, some were expressing gratitude towards staff and college and some were just hugging their friends and laughing on the memories at JIMS.
The batch of juniors expressed their love and respect for the seniors by assimilating their memories in the form of a video. ‘Yaar mere mainu mod lo’, the song played in the background, and the entire crowd was teary eyed with a smile on the face. The students shared their feelings for the college and staff members in the form of an anonymous feedback leaving them speechless. This time the staff went a step ahead and recorded messages and wishes for the students which was played in the form of a video at the end.
Claps and laughter were in the air, the evening soon turned into a beautiful night and when the audience came to believe it is the end of celebration for the day, came our dance team with a ‘flash mob performance’. Everyone danced and grooved to the music, forgetting all that was to come and just rejoicing the present times. The night continued with dancing and feasting and the students thanked the faculty coordinators Ms. Mahima Gupta and Ms. Ankita Chopra for the efforts they had put in for making the event a success.
And we bid them adieu, with the hope that we will meet again.
