To encourage young and first-time voters to participate in the upcoming Delhi assembly elections due on 5th February 2025, Electoral Literacy Club of JIMS organized a sweep activity on 24th January 2025 at JIMS Rohini campus. A gathering of more than 180 students of undergraduate programs was addressed by IAS Dilkhush Meena Ji, Deputy Commissioner MCD, and IAS Ayushi, SDM Headquarters, who encourage the young voters by explaining the importance of participation in this festival of democracy.
In this interactive session, IAS Dilkhush Meena Ji answered several queries raised by students, and advised students to channelize their energies toa more creative path and encouraged students to take part in nation building. IAS Ayushi Ji motivated students to not only vote themselves but advised them to encourage their family members toward this process.
A highlight was this session was installation of a wall of democracy where students posted messages for nation building. Both dignitaries initiated this process by writing first slogans and were followed by scores of students.
To update students about their knowledge of democratic electoral process, a quiz was conducted by student volunteers of ELC club of JIMS. Best performing students were awarded certificates by both dignitaries.
The event was also attended by several staff members of Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Election Office Rithala, and Municipal corporation of Delhi.
