The MOE Innovation cell conducted an online session on “Building the Pipeline of Quality Innovations & Start-ups in HEIs with Ecosystem Enablers by creating and managing Yukti Innovation and IPR Repository (YIIR)” on 2 nd August 2024 from 11:00 a.m. onwards. Mr. Dipan Sahu, National Coordinator - NISP, IIC & ARIIA, MBA/PGDM in IEV Program, MHRD's Innovation Cell, AICTE was the eminent speaker of the session.
YUKTI – National Innovation Repository (NIR) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India and it is implemented by MoE’s Innovation Cell and AICTE to build a system of repository of ideas, innovations and startups developed in academic institutions and enabling institutions to systematically foster the I&E culture by managing and nurturing these innovations by offering continuous support in terms of one-to-one mentorship, grant assistance, referral and linkage with incubation units, connecting with Angel/Venture Capital (VC) investors network, knowledge agencies) to engage as major stakeholders in delivering innovation and startup services, supports, and collaboration opportunities. An institute-level innovation repository is going to build a strong pipeline of quality innovations for the incubation industry to take forward.
To conclude, the Session highlighted the mandate of the Institution’s Innovation Council, i.e.:
- Strategies for fostering quality innovations within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)
- Insights on creating and managing the Yukti Innovation and IPR Repository (YIIR)
- How to leverage ecosystem enablers to support start-ups and innovations
Outcome :
The platform connects innovators with incubators, accelerators, IP firms, angel investors, venture capital firms, and government agencies, creating opportunities for collaboration, funding, and mentorship. YIR ensures that innovators receive expert guidance and mentorship throughout the development of their projects.
