Objective of the Event: The panel discussion focused on discussing about the practice of using entrepreneurial strategies to solve social or environmental problems while fostering innovation. The participants explored how social entrepreneurship blends business acumen with a mission to create positive societal change
Learning Outcomes: The event gave the opportunity to the participants to practice their public speaking, researching and presentation skills and boosted their morale and confidence. The IThink Panel and Academics Club organized a Panel Discussion on the topic- Social entrepreneurship: ‘Breaking down barriers for innovation with purpose’, 12 noon onwards in the A Building Auditorium on 1st October 2024.
First Year BBA Students and BA. Eco Hons students attended the event as the audience. The 8 panelist’s and the moderator had a healthy discussion about the practice of using entrepreneurial strategies to tackle social and environmental challenges, while also promoting innovation. The discussion highlighted the importance of innovation in overcoming traditional barriers, fostering collaboration across sectors, and ensuring long-term impact. Panelists also emphasized the role of community, engagement, partnerships, and technology in driving both purpose-driven initiatives and systemic change. The participants establish and flourish skills like public speaking, rigorous research, critical thinking and helped boost their confidence.
The panel discussion was moderated by Eshani Bansal and the panelists presented forth their views. Dr. Jyotsna Oswal, Faculty coordinator, IThink Panel organized the whole event and Aadit Chawla and Jasmeet Singh, BBA 3rd year also helped with the coordination.
Before the panel a roleplay was performed by the students of BBA namely Asees Kaur, Navya Kaushik, Kaavya Gaba, Shreya Bansal, Khushika Kalra, Mayank Makkar, Aagam Jain, Nikita Kapoor, Karuna Sirohi, Eklavya Malhotra, Anushka Maggo, Dhruv Sikka, Kaashvi Chadha, Nandini Malhotra.
After the introduction by moderator; the Panelists involved themselves in the very intense discussion on the given topic. Ms. Mansi Madan and Dr. Punam Aggarwal attended the event as the judges of the event and the following awards were awarded:
- The Best Panellist- Khushi Makhija
- Best Actor- Shreya Bansal
- Showstopper- Asees Kaur
- Best speaker- Kritika Datta
The event wrapped up with awarding all the panelists, moderator and the coordinator with mementos and certificates for their participation as well as a vote of thanks to the faculty and the audience.
