JIMS Rohini Organized Pre-Placement Session on Reasoning based Decision Making (Quantitative Aptitude)


JIMS Rohini, Sec -5, organized a session on 7 th October, 2024, that was delivered by Mr. Tijendra Sharma from Time Education Pvt. Ltd. He is an MBA and Science graduate having more than 20 years of experience and has trained students for exams like CAT, XAT, GMAT, NMAT and for govt. jobs like SSC, Bank PO etc.

Objectives:

The primary learning objectives of the workshop were:

  • To familiarize participants with common quantitative aptitude questions used in competitive exams and job interviews.
  • To develop efficient problem-solving techniques to solve quantitative questions quickly and accurately.
  • To teach participants time management strategies for quantitative sections in timed assessments.
  • To increase participants’ confidence in tackling complex numerical and logical challenges.

Address by resource person:

The session commenced with an address by the resource person, Mr. Tijendra Sharma who is an expert in mathematics and quantitative reasoning with extensive experience in training students for competitive exams like GRE, GMAT, CAT, and government recruitment exams.

The speaker began by highlighting the increasing importance of quantitative aptitude in various fields, from business to engineering and finance. Quantitative aptitude is a key component of most standardized tests, and it also plays a critical role in decision-making processes in professional environments.

The speaker explained that mastering quantitative aptitude is not just about knowing mathematical concepts, but also about applying the right techniques under pressure. They shared various shortcuts and mental math strategies for solving typical problems related to percentages, ratios, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and work, and data interpretation.

The speaker also discussed the importance of logical thinking and how a structured approach can lead to accurate and quick solutions. Through live problem-solving sessions, they demonstrated how participants could improve their performance by avoiding common mistakes and using strategic elimination methods.

The participants were able to:
