JIMS Rohini Organized INDUSTRIAL VISIT - COCA COLA HAPPINESS FACTORY


Introduction:

On 19th September 2024, the students of Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini, pursuing BBA, embarked on an industrial visit to the Coca-Cola factory. The visit was organized for 45 students under the guidance of the faculty in-charge, Mr. Ankur Tayal ,Dr. Jyotsna Oswal and admin coordinator Mr. Rajat Kukreja. The purpose of the visit was to expose the students to real-world corporate functioning and to deepen their understanding of marketing, production, and corporate social responsibility. The Marketing Manager of Coca-Cola, Mr. Saurabh Singh, hosted the students at the facility, making the experience both engaging and informative.


Event Highlights:

The visit commenced with a warm welcome at Coca-Cola's Happiness Factory located in Greater Noida. The students were introduced to the extensive range of Coca-Cola products through a brief video presentation, showcasing the company's global and regional impact. Mr. Saurabh Singh took the students through a guided tour of the production plant, demonstrating the intricate processes involved in bottling popular beverages like Coca-Cola, Limca, Minute Maid, and Maaza..

Throughout the visit, the students observed how raw materials are transformed into finished products, and the high standards maintained for health and safety. The tour also included insights into Coca-Cola’s marketing strategies and product branding, which have contributed to the company’s success worldwide.

The students were particularly fascinated by the section on Coca-Cola's history and its iconic secret formula. Students enjoyed various games and fun activities at Coca-Cola gaming vault .In the end, students enjoyed complimentary Coca-Cola beverages and engaged in an interactive Q&A session with the company's representatives.


Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Insight into Production Processes: Students gained firsthand knowledge of the end-to-end production processes within a large-scale beverage manufacturing facility.
  • Marketing and Branding Techniques: The visit provided a clear understanding of Coca-Cola’s innovative marketing techniques, which have sustained its brand image for over a century.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): The session on Coca-Cola's CSR initiatives helped students understand how businesses can contribute to society through environmental and social programs.
  • Real-world Application of Business Concepts: The visit offered practical exposure to classroom concepts such as production and operations management, Tools and technologies in business processes, and business ethics, which is integral to understand how large corporations function.

Conclusion: The industrial visit to Coca-Cola’s Happiness Factory was an enriching experience for the BBA students of JIMS, Rohini. The detailed insights into Coca-Cola's operations, coupled with the engaging sessions on production, branding, and CSR, significantly enhanced the students’ understanding of business operations. Guided by Mr. Ankur Tayal and hosted by Mr. Saurabh Singh, the visit successfully provided a practical perspective on FMGC corporate functioning, complementing the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom.
