INVESTOFIN & ANALYTICA - The Finance & Business Analytics club of JIMS organized
the Investment Venture activity for the PGDM (batch 2022-24) on Friday, 24th March
2023 under the guidance of Dr. Monika Agarwal and Dr. Himanshu Goel. The activity's main
goal was to demonstrate the student's analytical and decision-making abilities in the context
of mergers and acquisition.
There were 14 teams who registered for the activity, each with three participants. The activity
consisted of three rounds. The first round included a quiz on mergers and acquisitions. Based
on the first-round scores, the top 10 teams were chosen. The 10 chosen teams proceeded to
the second round. Each team received a specific budget in round 2 along with adjustments for
other financial terms like tax, subsidy, provision, recovery and liability. The top six teams left
with the highest budgets were chosen for the third and final round based on these instances.
Each team in the final round was given an insolvent company. Each team was required to
explain their plan to revive the business after examining the financial statements and other
information of the organisation. The final round was judged by Professor Vinod Kumar. The
top 3 teams were appreciated for their truly outstanding presentations by awarding certificates
and cash prizes.
