JIMS Rohini Organized MERI MAATI MERA DESH


Introduction:

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Club of Rohini visited Kartavya Path on 31st October, 2023 to join the Meri Maati Mera Desh event organised by NSSRD . Group of 50 students participated in this event. "Mera Mati Mera Desh" campaign is planned as a tribute to the brave citizens of the nation who have given their lives in the service of the country. All members of the nation's armed forces as well as freedom fighters in general shall fall under this category.


Event Highlights:

  • Gathering At Udyog Bhawan Metro Station: All the volunteers gathered at Udyog Bhawan Metro Station at 11:00AM and proceeded to Kartvya Path, New Delhi and from there onwards Officers of Ministry/NSS lead them to the main venue.
  • Taking Panch Pran pledge: As a part of this initiative , all the volunteers took a pledge which included five commitments; i.e. to make India developed and self reliant by 2047, remove any trace of colonial mindset , celebrate our heritage , strengthen unity and respect those who protect the country, and to perform the duties of a citizen.
  • Honouring families of armed forces and freedom fighters: Volunteers participated in the programme “ VEERON KA VANDHAN” which was to honour to all those families of freedom fighters and defence personnels. It was lead by PM Narendra Modi who also gave recognition to them for their invaluable services.
  • Notional Flag Hoisting: The programme included hoisting of national flag and singing “National Anthem”.

Conclusion:

It was a successful event where volunteers got to show their gratitude and respect towards the people who sacrificed themselves for the nation and through this they enjoyed unified celebration of India’s soil and valour, commemorating the nation’s journey of freedom and progress. It was a unique and innovative way of celebrating 77th anniversary of India’s freedom.
