JIMS Rohini Organized Electoral Battle (Quiz Competition)


Objective:

The primary goal is to educate participants and the audience about various aspects of the democratic electoral process, including voting rights, electoral systems, the role of political parties, electoral laws, and the importance of civic engagement.

To foster awareness, engagement, and understanding of democratic principles among participants and the broader community.


Brief about the event:

The "Electoral Quiz Battle: Democratic Electoral Processes" event was a dynamic and educational competition focused on testing participant’s knowledge of democratic electoral processes. Divided into two rounds, this event challenges teams to demonstrate their understanding of various aspects of democratic elections, from voter rights to electoral systems and political institutions.


Round 1: Written Question Paper

In the first round, each participating team received a question paper containing 20 questions related to the democratic electoral process. Questions covered topics such as voting rights, electoral systems and the role of political parties. Teams had 15 minutes to answer as many questions as possible, showcasing their depth of knowledge and understanding.

Round 2: On-the-Spot Question Round

In the second round, five selected teams advance to the on-the-spot question round. Each team faced a series of three challenging questions presented by the coordinator. Questions required teams to discuss the implications of electoral reforms, providing an opportunity to apply their knowledge in practical contexts.

  • Time Limit: Teams have a limited time to discuss and provide answers to each question

At final 3 best teams were selected and certified.

The event was successfully conducted by the entire team of ELC-JIMS. Special regards to the faculty Coordinator, Mr. Devesh Lowe. A vote of thanks to student coordinators Aastha Bhatia, Ishita Sachdeva Ananya Arora and Elisha Chophla who worked under his guidance to make the event a success .

The event offered an exciting opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of democratic electoral processes while engaging in friendly competition and intellectual discourse.
