JIMS Rohini Organized Self Defense Workshop


GCC Objectives:

Objective 1: Promote Awareness and Equality: Raise awareness about gender-related issues, challenge stereotypes, and advocate for gender equality on campus and in the wider community.

Objective 2: Empower Through Education: Provide educational opportunities that equip members with the knowledge and tools to combat gender discrimination, fostering an understanding of diverse gender identities and expressions.

Objective 3: Cultivate Allies and Action: Create a supportive environment that encourages empathy, inspires members to become allies for gender equality, and empowers them to take meaningful actions towards positive societal change.


About the event:

JIMS, in collaboration with Parivartan Cell, Delhi Police, organized a self-defence workshop on March 19, 2024, aimed at empowering students with essential safety skills. Led by experienced instructors, the workshop provided hands-on training in basic self-defence techniques, fostering confidence and awareness among participants. Through interactive drills and insights from law enforcement, students gained practical knowledge and a heightened sense of security. This collaborative effort not only equipped students with vital skills but also strengthened the bond between the student community and law enforcement authorities.

Post Event Report:

In an effort to prioritize student safety and empowerment, JIMS organized a comprehensive self-defence workshop in collaboration with the Delhi Police on March 19, 2024. Led by experienced instructors, including SI Om Sheela, who provided awareness about keeping ourselves safe and cautious from any sudden accidents, and introduced the Delhi Police Himmat App, the workshop aimed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge essential for personal safety and security in various real-life scenarios. Head constable Kimati, Constable Geeta, and Constable Aarti demonstrated self-defence moves, enhancing participants' understanding and confidence. A total of 102 students actively participated in the workshop, gaining hands-on experience through interactive drills and simulated scenarios. This collaborative effort not only empowered students with crucial self-defence knowledge but also strengthened the bond between the student community and law enforcement authorities, promoting a safer and more empowered environment.
