The NIMCET (National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test) session took place on March 22, 2023, for the students of BCA. This was a very enlightening session. First of all, the session started with Dr. Suman Madan (Associate Professor) giving a detailed introduction about the opportunities after BCA. She then mentioned the important information about the MCA course. Everything regarding the eligibility, the detailed syllabus, the registration deadlines, the registration process, the fees, etc. about the NIMCET examination was shared. She also mentioned the organizing NIT and the participating NITs. She provided a brief overview of previous ranks as well as information about admission opportunities at various universities. The entire information was shared through a PowerPoint presentation.
After this, the students were enlightened about the placement opportunities after MCA. Mr. Hemant Kumar (Placement Cell) gave thorough information about the packages offered by the different companies after MCA, the designation, the required knowledge and skills to be the selected one, etc. He provided detailed statistical information about the companies that hire MCA freshers, their average pay-packages, and the most commonly offered job roles. At the end of the session, we also got to know the benefits if we pursue MCA at JIMS. He spoke about the trainings, the companies that come for the MCA batch, the various packages that JIMS students are placed on, and many other things. Students, particularly NIMCET aspirants, listened intently throughout the session. A lot of questions were asked in the questionnaire part, and all the queries were answered by the faculty.
