The Finance Club of JIMS, ‘INVESTOFIN’’ organized its first activity- ‘IPL BIDDING’ for the PGDM (batch 2022-24) on 20th August 2022 under the guidance of Dr. Deepika Saxena and Dr. Monika Agarwal. The event IPL bidding was organized to foster the decision-making and analytical skills of the students The event received a huge response from students. 37 teams took part in the competition. Each team had 3 members. To select 10 teams for final round, a preliminary screening test based on broad knowledge of finance was conducted. There were 10 questions in all for the preliminary round. The teams with the most correct responses were chosen. Team Money Makers, Challengers, RCB, Eagles, Destroyers, Delhi Titans, Bidding Alphas, Raptors, Galla Boys, Challengers, were the names of the final teams.
The teams started the bidding with a great enthusiasm. According to the regulations, each team had to spend a maximum of Rs. 45 crores on 5 players. Teams had to choose one batsman, one wicketkeeper, one bowler, and two all-rounders from a total of five players. The event was made even more interesting by the bidding restrictions. A variety of cricket-based questions were posed to the audience, and each correct response was rewarded with chocolates and extra budget in an effort to keep them interested and active.
Finally, Dean Dr. Pratima Daipuria presented cash prizes, and certificates to the top 3 teams. Team Money Makers won the first prize, with Eagles and Bidding Alphas taking second and third place, respectively. The event was successfully wrapped up with a brief message from the Dean, Dr. Pratima Daipuria, with the awarding of certificates and prizes to the winners.
