KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATION- ENTREPRENEURSHIP

An Online Live session on YouTube was conducted by Institution’s Innovation Council-MHRD on 27th April from 2:30 PM-3:30 PM. Students from various reputed colleges took part actively in the session. Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry had joined hands to celebrate this day in a grand way on 26th April to spread IP Literacy, and an IP talk series was organized (online) for the students and faculty members from IIC Institutions. The objective of the IP talk series was to sensitize and strengthen the IP ecosystem in educational institutes thus creating a culture of systematically protecting new ideas, research, and innovation having national and global relevance.

The session was packed with valuable insights where the participants were enlightened about the process of converting ideas into innovation. In this generation, every individual has an urge to convert mere thoughts into something concrete, but they are unaware of the whole process. The key steps discussed were: Discovery, Interpretation, Ideation, Experimentation, and Evolution. There were innovative ways of expressing whatever the speaker wanted to convey by quoting real-life examples.

The topic took an interesting turn when the discussion on the efficacy of Research and Development towards building a successful nature took place. A pyramid was shown consisting of various folds including the interdependence of Science, Innovation, and Technology, and their role in creating jobs in the market and increasing the flow of knowledge among the market players was deeply discussed.

The 4 P’s of innovation were also catered to the listeners and they are Product, Process, Position and Paradigm. The aspect of what exactly researchers need to do and divest the components which are not required by them was also taken care of. Appropriate facts and figures were quoted and the whole discussion was supported by visuals and a presentation to give the students clarity of thoughts and ideas.

How an individual’s present skills can benefit them in the future were discussed and the kind of unique journey every budding entrepreneur has was also focused upon. Such topics cleared a lot of doubts that arose in young entrepreneurs' minds, and it indeed was an amazing session.
