Institute Innovation Council of JIMS Rohini celebrated Earth Day 2022 on April 22, 2022. The event began with the fireside chat where the students from different courses participated to discuss on the topic “Invest in our Planet”. The discussion started with a brief introduction about the Earth Day. It covered various burning subthemes such as planet conservation, challenges for conservation, ways to combat, implementation of sustainability as a concept, initiatives for conservation and the traditional approach of Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. The discussion was concluded on a common agreement to evolve consciously to stand for the preservation and conservation of the planet before the damage becomes irreversible.
The E-waste Collection Drive which aimed at the theme ‘bE-Responsible’ was carried out to collect the E-waste from the faculties, workers and students of the college. Stakeholders were asked to drop the E-waste in the collection box kept near the Auditorium. The collected waste was processed and was sent for the recycling process. The E-waste collection drive was aimed at spreading awareness among the people to recycle the used gadgets in order to use the available resources cautiously and consciously.
Also, participants submitted their articles (500-700 words) for the Article Writing competition on the theme “invest in our planet, Green future is a prosperous future”.
After that Poster Making competition was conducted in which the participants presented the ideas of their posters on the theme “Invest in our planet, Green future is a prosperous future” followed by the prize distribution ceremony for poster making competition and appreciation ceremony for fireside chat’s participants. Then the event ended with token of thanks for the participants, faculty and IIC members.
