With the help of planograms, retailers can determine precisely when and where to place their products for maximum financial results. Planograms also enable retailers to merchandise their products at the right place and at the right time, allowing for a better shopping experience for customers, which leads to added sales.
To give the students of PGDM Retail Management batch2021-23 an insight into the same, JIMS Rohini organized a workshop on ‘Learning through Planograms’ on 2nd March, 2022. The resource person was Dr. Bhavna Chadha, Visiting Faculty.
The students were divided into 5 groups and they explored planograms of leading Hypermarkets around Delhi by visiting the stores and doing a critical analysis of each of them.
Then, they drew the existing planograms of the stores after observation. All the teams gave presentation on what a suitable planogram would rather look like of those particular brand stores. Students did the same by carefully analysing the shelves space, aisle area, inventory levels of each product and category as well as the overall look and feel of the store.
Ms. Bhavna Chadha guided them based on the brands they chose and helped them figure out the challenges that they faced during inspection and analysis.
Overall, it was a learning experience for all the students and definitely a step closer towards the future of retail aspirants.
