PGDM-International Business students of JIMS,Rohini were taken on an Industrial Visit to Celebi Delhi Cargo Terminal Management India Pvt Ltd at IGI Airport, New Delhi on 9th March 2022. Çelebi stepped into the aviation industry with the establishment of Çelebi Ground Handling in 1958 as Turkey's first privately-owned ground handling Services Company. Today, it stands out as one of the most successful examples of integrated services in the Civil Aviation industry offering Ramp, Passenger, Cargo Handling, Warehouse Management, Bridge Operations, Trucking, General Aviation, Airport Lounge Management and Premium Services globally. Çelebi continues to operate on 3 continents, in 5 countries and more than 40 stations.
As a first step, students were presented with a presentation about the company. Following this, they were given an overview of the port, witnessing the terminals and loading & unloading operations from cargo vessels. So Far they were learning the theoretical concepts of Export and Import. Here they learnt the intricacies of Export-Import, gained first-hand knowledge of the customs procedures and formalities, the details of export/import documentation, the procedures for cargo handling, warehousing, loading and shipment etc. It was great to see the textbook learning come to life in front of the students. They asked a plethora of questions and the authorities were kind enough to quench their curiosity. The company personnel also had appreciated the learning interest shown by the students.
Overall this visit was a great learning experience for PGDM-International Business students.
