On 4th February 2022, the student group pursuing project under Sacchi Saheli organised a webinar on topic “Myths regarding Periods” for students.
The webinar started with beautiful poem recitation by Shriya Bansal that grabbed the attention of all the present participants. Further on, we welcome and introduce our guest speaker Ms. Rikita Narula, Menstrual Health Educator and Trainer and Project Head, Sachhi Saheli.
After the introduction there was an engaging question and answer round, followed by interactive session with the students where they shared their first periods story.
Ms. Rikita Narula discussed a plethora of issues related to period, the usage of right vocabulary, the prevailing myths in society and gender opinions on the topic. She Shared stories and experiences of women in society related to the topic.
Dr Pratima Daipuria, Dean PGDM shared some of the societal thoughts and the changes society is experiencing in terms of opening up to such erstwhile taboo topics.
Lastly, Dr. Avijit Chakraborty, Faculty of JIMS highlighted that it is very important to spread awareness about this issue.
