Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini Sector-5, conducted a two-days MDP on ‘RESERVATION IN SERVICES’ that focused on imparting insight on the rights and privileges extended to the Scheduled Castes(SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to empowering them and ensuring their participation in the decision-making process of the State.
The engaging session commenced from 18th December 2021 where topics such as Constitutional Provisions about Reservation, Provisions Relating to Availability of Reservation for Cs/STs/OBCs/EW, Determination of Quota for SCs, STs, OBCs and EWS and Earmarking of Reserved Vacancies, and Relaxations and Concessions were discussed in-depth. Mr K.G. Verma headed the sessions of the MDP. Mr. Verma has served as Deputy Director (Administration) and Director (Administration) for about ten years in the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare where he looked after matters related to administration, establishment and vigilance. Reflection upon his experience, he enriched the sessions with his words of wisdom and provided knowledgeable insights about the plight and privileges available to the reserved sections of India.
On the second day, the participants got an opportunity to understand and learn about Preparation and Maintenance of Reservation/ Roster Registers, De – Reservation, Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Reservation for Ex-Servicemen. The MDP ended with knowledge sharing and heartfelt gratitude by both the participants and the resource person.
