JIMS, Rohini organised a guest lecture, on 7 December 2021, on the topic “The Art of Visual Merchandising” for PGDM- Retail Management students batch 2021-23.The resource person was Mr. Kaushik Sheel, Visual Merchandising Head - North, Lifestyle.
The students got to learn many merchandising jargons throughout the session.
Mr. Sheel threw light on the importance of Visual Merchandising and how it enhances sales and boost repeat sales by encouraging customers to come to the store and increase customer loyalty.
Thereon, he talked about various elements of Visual Merchandising like Windows, In-store displays, Mannequins and wall displays. Apart from this, he talked about his personal experience in the industry and how he practically applied these concepts to boost revenue generation.
The session was concluded by a question round wherein Mr. Sheel talked to students about his industry experience and how to go about in making a career in this field. He also shared his learnings and experiences.
Overall, it was a knowledge enriching session for the students where they got to interact one on one with an industry expert.
