To culminate awareness on professional finance and trends in students, JIMS Rohini organized a workshop on 'Understanding Finance through Annual Reports' on 12th November 2021 for PGDM Retail Management and International Business students batch 2021-23. The resource person was Mohd. Mateen, Ex. VP (Finance), British Paints.
The workshop started off by Mr. Mateen enlightening the students about the intricacies of various financial securities and how they are valued in today's time. Various nitty gritties of current taxes, financial standards and professions in finance sector were also discussed.
This was followed by a thorough study of annual financial reports wherein Mr. Mateen taught students how professionals in financial sector analyze financial reports for decision making. Various audited financial statements of Spicejet, Shopper's Stop and Berger Paints were circulated between the students which they learnt and analyzed in depth.
Overall it was a very enriching session wherein the students learnt more about the world of finance and how they can culminate its benefits regardless their sectors.
