Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Sector-5, Rohini, New Delhi organized MDP Programme on ‘Export Opportunities and Challenges in Key Sectors’ at JIMS Campus, on Saturday 22nd September, 2012 at Habitat World India Habitat Centre, New Delhi- 110003.
The welcome address was given by Dr J.K Goyal, Director, JIMS. He introduced JIMS as one of the prestigious brands in the education sector to all the participants coming from diverse sectors. Head of MDP Cell Mr. C. George introduced the program and the key resource persons. The resource persons of the session were Mr.Arvind Gupta, Director Basmati Export Development Foundation, APEDA, Mr. Cherian George, Associate Professor & Head MDP Cell & Mr. Abhay Sinha, Regional Director, and Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL).
 
The programme concentrated on Export Opportunities and highlighted the opportunities and the challenges for Indian businessmen. The technical sessions were highly interactive and included excellent presentations, group activities and exercises. 20 participants from several prominent organizations were present also including small and medium exporters. Participants were representing 18 different organizations; to name some were Chemicals & Allied Products export promotion council (CAPEXIL), Federation of Indian Exports (FIEO), Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Berger Paints, National Institute of Entrepreneurship & Small Business Development (NIESBOD), Footwear Design & Development Institute, Faridabad Small Industries Association & other Small & Medium Enterprises, Industrial Finance Corporation of India Ltd (IFCI).
 
The event was divided into three technical sessions. The first session was conducted by Mr. Cherian George on Overview of Indian Exports & Institutional Mechanism for Developing International Trade. The second session was taken by Mr. Arvind Gupta on Export Opportunities & Challenges in Agriculture & Processed food sector. The third session was taken by Mr. Abhay Sinha on The key areas of Engineering Sector, Pharmaceuticals Sector & Textile Sector.
Dr J K Goyal presented certificates to all the participants. The program was well appreciated by all the participants.
