Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini, sector-5, organized an industry academia conference on 25th July 2014 at India Habitat center wherein more than 100 corporate professionals and industry mentors participated.
The purpose of the event was to enhance the interaction between the academic fraternity and the corporate world so that the management students could be made employable immediately after going out of the Institute. In an informal chat, the representatives from the corporate world were asked to share their experiences and expectations from the business schools. Most of them emphasize the relevance of practical knowledge, good communication skills and sense of commitment and dedication.
These representatives from commerce business and industry were apprised of the corporate mentorship program recently launched by JIMS. This program aims at providing a unique platform for interaction between the industry professionals and the students.
The objectives of the Corporate Mentorship program are –
- Accessibility to students to ask questions relating to career, aptitude & business knowledge via email, telephone, face-to-face meeting or by getting engaged as an apprentice.

It provides opportunities for live projects, recruitment proposals/internships, industry visits, workshops, etc.

Alumni Engagement: An easy framework to interact with Alumni for a variety of Alumni level activities.

Inviting industry participation for seminars, workshops, MDPs, etc.
Overall the event was fruitful both for JIMS as well as corporate world.
