As the markets are becoming more competitive and customers are more demanding, the role of the leaders and managers becomes important and challenging than ever.
Under the guidance of Ms Ambika Bhatia(Faculty ,JIMS Rohini) Students of PGDM-International Business were divided into groups & they had chosen a product/ services on their own (non-existing and innovative). The groups were trying to apply the concepts of operations management (as taught in the class) for their dummy organizations in reference to the products chosen and strategies as an Operations Manager. They were supposed to make a plan (with a feasibility check) for their product in respect to areas like, new product selection, plant location, product scheduling, quality, material management, vendor selection, supply chain etc. and ideas explained during the course.
With an objective of attaining knowledge that is more practical and to understand the inventory management strategies and its applications for the product students of PGDM International Business (2019-20) batch visited Pacific Mall, Subhash Nagar Delhi in a group of 5-6. Students visited stores /outlets, identified their product and placement. Interaction with the operations personals was the essential part of the visit which helped the groups to gain the knowledge about the inventory management, codification and classification of the inventory, tools & strategies regarding inventory orderings, supply chains, and finally how inventory of the goods are managed right from the inbound logistics till the sales of the product and how they manage the footfall in the store and strategies used by the management.
