Samanvay’–The HR Club at JIMS organized ‘LEISURE ‘N’ TREASURE activity for the PGDM Batch (2019-2021) on 4th February under the guidance of Dr. Neha Shukla. The event saw active participation from all the PGDM verticals and a total of 8 teams had participated. The activities were judged by Dr. Neha Shukla and Ms Sonal Pahwa.
The event had two activities for the students. The first being ‘POWER DRESSING’ in which through lucky draw the teams were given a particular theme related to various corporate events like 25th anniversary celebration, corporate club meet and annual general meeting. In this activity the teams dressed and styled themselves according to their respective themes and showcased it with a ramp walk, role play and a small skit as per their creativity. The entire time duration which was given to each of the teams for showcasing their work was five minutes each. After which the teams had to answer some questions asked by the judges. The teams were judged on the basis of creativity, dressing style & handling of Q&A.
The second activity of TREASURE HUNT was the highlight of the day. In this activity the team members had to explore the college and discover the clues that were hidden in different places. The location of the clues had to be communicated without using phone or verbal communication. The teams had to collect or find three clues. In the end, last two teammates were left in which one needs to find the chit containing the HR term and the other one needs to guess it. The teams were judged upon the time taken, coordination & team effort.
There were three winning teams who won cash prizes of Rs. 2500, 1500 & 1000 respectively.
The event witnessed energetic participation and was thoroughly enjoyed by students and faculty members. The cheers and the high-spirited teams made the activities vibrant and exhilarating.
The activities of the event had some great learning experiences for budding managers at JIMS on non-verbal inter-personal communication, creativity and time management for effective teamwork.
