JIMS Elite, Alumni Association of JIMS, Rohini organized a seminar on “Leveraging Digitalization for Competitive Advantage” on 23rd November at the PHD House, New Delhi. The speakers for the three sessions were experts drawn from diverse functional areas who during the day discussed challenges and opprtunities of digitalization and how it can be tapped as a useful resource for the organizations.
Seminar began with the address by Mr.Puneet Sethi, President, JIMS Elite, Alumni Associaiton who talked about the role and functions of Alumni Association. This was followed by address of Dr.Pooja Jain, Director, JIMS who welcomed the guests and speakers. She also briefed about the seminar theme and efforts made by various people in making it happen. Seminar was divided into three technical sessions.
Topic for the first session was ‘Macro Level Perspective and digital preparedness of Industry’. It was moderated by Ms.Deepti Vij, JIMS Alumna. Other speakers were Mr. Anjan Das Gupta, Managing Director, ASA International India Microfinance Limited, Mr.T.D Chandersekar, Leadership Coach (Sr. Teams and CXOs), Mr. Ashok Mittal, Founder & CEO, Prest Loans lord Krishna Financial Services and Mr.Vikrant Wadhwani, Digital Expert. The session was summarized it’s by saying that its mind-set that needs to be changed and if you have to succeed in this competitive era, be in a habit of upgrading your skills and keep learning as technology is changing at a very faster pace.
Post high tea, second session was held on the topic ‘Initiatives or scope for industries in the digital era’. The speakers were Mr.Akash Gupta, Founder & CEO, Mobycy, Mr.Snigdhodev Bhattarcharay JIMS Alumnus and Head Sales, South Asia, Honeywell, Mr.Shubham Saran, JIMS Alumnus and General Manager - NIXI (IX, Dot IN Registry & IRINN), Ms.Pooja Dudani, Associate Director L&OD, Cars 24. Moderator of this session was Mr.Rohit Gupta, JIMS Alumnus and AVP- Alliance, Bharti AXA General Insurance. The panel concluded the session by emphasizing the point that for organizations to be competitive enough, it is necessary for them to upgrade themselves with the new technologies coming in the market.
The third and the last session was held post lunch on the topic ‘Distruptions in the age of digitalization’. Speakers were Mr.Gaurav Chopra, Founder, Indialends, Mr.Shantanu Sahajpal, Business Leader, Twitter, Mr.Saurab Kalra, Founder & CEO, Theofficebasics.com, Mr.Jasmeet Singh JIMS Alumnus and Public Speaker. Moderator for the session was Mr.Puneet Sethi, JIMS Alumnus and Chief Manager, Kotak Mahindra Bank. The session was concluded on the note that change is inevitable and innovation is necessary for surviving in this competitive market.
The participants were corporate, alumni, faculty and students. They interacted with the speakers during and after the sessions and resolved their queries. It was a highly informative and useful session in which challenges arising out of digitalization were deliberated and how various stakeholders can cope up with those challenges.
