JIMS Elite, Alumni association of JIMS, Rohini organized an Alumni talk on the topic of ‘Change Management in the Age of Disruptions’. The session was held on Tuesday, 23rd April, 2019 at the India International Centre, New Delhi. The speakers for the session were alumni of initial batches of JIMS PGDBM programme, while audience were mainly alumni and faculty members.
The session began with the welcome of speakers and address by Dr.Pooja Jain, Director, JIMS, Rohini. Dr.Jain spoke about the acheivements of JIMS in last one year and various new initiatives in the curriculum and pedegogy. She also gave a brief about different Alumni interation events, organized by JIMS during last few years. She then invited Mr.Jatin Aggarwal, to moderate the session and carry it forward
Mr. Aggarwal is Partner, Bansal Trading Company, a leading suppliers to the Paint and Ink Industries. He is also Director, ALA Exim Private Limited. He is JIMS alumnus of 1996-98 batch. Mr. Aggarwal gave a presentation on Distruptions that are taking place in different industry sectors and their likley impact on the stakeholders.
Next speaker was Mr. Sandeep Arora, General Manager, Digital Marketing & Enterprise Solution Management, Aditya Birla Group - Vodafone Idea Limited, Delhi and JIMS alumnus of PGDBM (1997-99) batch. He talked about the spiritual and mythological aspects of disruptions and change, and emphasized on the importance of mental and physical health.
Mr.Rohit, Alumnus of 2001-03 batch and currently with Bharti Axa General Insurance Company as Associate Vice President gave a brief presentation on the impact of disruptive technologies on the insurance sector and how it is supporting the customer acquisition and services.
Mr. Varun Dua of PGDBM (2001-03) batch deliberated on the present and the future technologies and their likley influence on the employment scenario. He emphasized on the need to skill and train people for the future jobs. Mr.Dua is Sr. Manager - Cognitive Automation - Automation Anywhere Inc.
The last speaker on the panel was Mr. Kanwaldeep Singh Bedi, alumnus PGDBM (1995-97) batch. He is currently working on a startup and was earlier Business Head, Edique Solutions Pvt. Ltd. He gave references of various disruptions that occurred in different industries and how companies can manage the changes that happen due to those disruptions.
At the end Mr.Manish Gupta, Chairman, JIMS in his closing remarks, explained MIT Four Capability Model, in context of educational institutions. It is a powerful leadership framework designed to help leaders understand what type of leadership is needed in different situations and is based on a set of abilities that are critical to leadership.
Session was highly engaging with regular queries and comments from the audience.
