On 12/01/2018, IP department of JIMS organized an alumni interaction session for BCA 2nd year students. Resource person, Mr Guneet Mutreja, an alumnus of JIMS BCA batch 2012-15, who is currently working in TCS from the last 2 years as a Developer and Trainer interacted with students and discussed various issues related to latest technologies, project work and industry trends. Mr Mutreja who is currently working in the field of Geospatial Analysis and Artificial Intelligence, highlighted the importance of geospatial analysis and how much companies and governments are investing in it.
He shared his knowledge as obtained while working with TCS in fields of floods monitoring, forest cover mapping, GIS etc. Students from BCA 2nd year asked many questions about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In response Mr Mutreja demonstrated, using a power-point presentation, how he analysed Mumbai floods project 2018 and also his ongoing projects on GDP prediction of India and Hamlets (villages) Detection through supervised classification.
He motivated students to work with new technologies and learn new things. He also emphasized on hard work as a part of placement preparation and gave valuable advises related to campus recruitment. Students were very thankful for organizing such an inspiring session, which motivated and guided them to choose the right direction.
