In order to create awareness on the various challenges and opportunities that entrepreneurs nowadays face, a session was held for the students of PGDM-first year, on 9th Dec.’2017. The session was conducted by Mr.Gaurav Vashisht, an entrepreneur by himself, who enthralled the audience with his fine oratory while sharing real life experiences.
The session began with a motivational story of a family living in Florida. It was narrated to leave a mark in the mind of the students on how to be a Go Getter and grab the opportunities. The speaker discussed about the challenges that Start-ups face, some of which are;
1.How will the idea be funded?
2.What if we fail?
3.Is the idea workable?
Mr.Vashisht talked about brain drain trend prevailing in the country and shared his own story of leaving his Job at Just Dial for starting up his own venture and what all he had to face in this journey. He discussed the potential that India holds as a market and how it is an apt time to come up with an idea and shape it into a reality. He inspired the student to take up the challenges and see problem as an opportunity and derive the Idea out of it to convert it into a prosperous business.
It was a very interactive session with a great learning experience. At the end speaker concluded by asking each of the participants to ignite and retain the fire of entrepreneurship within them. Session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.Sumesh Raizada, faculty coordinator for the session. He was assisted by Mr.Vivek Chandran and Ms.Aashi Jain, both students of PGDM-first year.
About the speaker:
Mr. Gaurav Vashisht is a multifaceted personality, as he is a management professional, entrepreneur, teacher and a philosopher. He is currently associated with many budding start-ups as a mentor and running a successful venture by the name of Cheetah Logistics in Delhi. He has been rendering teaching and training services to colleges and institutes like IMT, IIM, Pearl Academy of Fashion, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and many more. He has been conferred upon the very formidable national award i.e. ‘Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award, on 9th September 2014 and has also been recognized as a successful young entrepreneur by Times India News very recently to appraise his efforts in the field of entrepreneurship. He is currently nurturing a new venture by the name of Green Décor making greenery a part of everybody’s life and using technology to transform the way natural plants are sold at large.
