PGDM-RM students recently completed specialized interim internship in ‘Retail Sales & Operations and Visual Merchandising’ with Major Brands, one of the leading Fashion Retail Group in India. PGDM-RM students worked with leading premium fashion brands like Guess, Mango, Beverly Hills Polo Club(BHPC) and Lasenza. They were allotted different brands and locations. The objective of the internship project was to provide practical insight of fashion & retail industry and develop student’s skills in successfully managing the operations of a retail store. Students received mentoring and training in the exciting world of fashion that complemented their classroom studies.
“I had a great learning experience working with Spanish brand, Mango. It was my privilege to be associated with Major Brands. I have gained tremendous confidence in dealing with customers, understood basic concept of Visual Merchandising, Billing and Cash Management, Inventory Management. This internship gave me exposure to different brands and helped me understand retail operations properly.” says Khemil Singhi, student of PGDM-RM (2014-16)
“My overall experience was excellent! At Beverly Hills Polo Club (BHPC) taught me the key skills to manage and deal with different customers, store opening and closing procedures and the most important VM (Visual Merchandising). I also gained knowledge about different fabrics and fits.” says Anushikha, student of PGDM-RM (2014-16)
Overall, the project was a huge success and the brands were delighted with student’s performance. Brands have also shared interest to provide summer internship opportunity to outstanding students. Students received stipend and Certificate of Appreciation from Major Brands. Students gained exceptional exposure to a variety of Retail Store operation’s management responsibilities and hands-on experience in Visual Merchandising and Customer Relationship Management.
