On September 9, 2024, the Gender Championship Club organized a debate on the topic "Gender Quotas: Necessity or Overreach." The event took place in Room B302 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. This event aimed to explore the complex and often contentious issue of gender quotas in various sectors, including politics, business, and education.
A total of 10 participants engaged in a lively discussion, presenting arguments both in favor of and against gender quotas. The debate featured a diverse range of perspectives on whether gender quotas are essential for achieving gender equality or if they represent an undue restriction on merit-based opportunities.
The event was anchored by Shreya Bajaj and Aarushi Singh, both third-year BBA students, who skillfully moderated the debate. The judging panel consisted of Ms. Megha Mohan and Dr. Sachin, who evaluated the arguments and awarded positions based on the clarity, strength, and originality of the presentations.
The event was coordinated by teachers Dr. Akanksha and Ms. Megha Sharma, who provided valuable guidance throughout the preparation and execution of the debate.
