Objective of the event:
The panel discussion focused on discussing India's
significant contributions to UN Peacekeeping Operations, evaluation of
India's candidacy for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council and
Potential benefits of India's Security Council membership.
Learning Outcomes:
The Event gave the opportunity to the participants to
practice their public speaking, researching and presentation skills and
boosted their morale and confidence.
Event Write-Up:
The IThink Panel organized a Panel Discussion on the
topic- India’s Contributions To UN Peacekeeping Operations: Evaluating
Its Candidacy
For A Security Council Seat, 12 noon onwards in the A Building
Auditorium. First Year BBA Students and Eco Hons students attended the event as the audience. The 8 panelists and the moderator had a
healthy discussion about
India’s Candidacy for a Security Council Seat and about the contributions
of India to UN peacekeeping missions.
They got to establish and flourish skills like public speaking, rigorous
research, critical thinking and helped boost their confidence.
The panel discussion was moderated by Parth Aggarwal and the panelists
presented forth their views. Dr. Jyotsna Oswal, Faculty coordinator, IThink
Panel organized the whole event and Parth Aggarwal, BBA 3
rd year also
helped with the coordination.
Before the panel a roleplay was performed by the students of BBA namely
RolePlay Participant Bhavyay Gupta, Dhairya Kharbanda, Ujjwal Gupta,
Dhriti Khurana, Nikhil Ramchandani, Rudra, Harshal Sethi, Prachi Sharma,
Samarth, Ujjwal Aggarwal, Tanuj, Nikasha, Archita Kanodia, Kashish,
Shivang and Sanskar.
After the introduction by moderator; Panelists involved themselves in the
very intense discussion on the given topic. Mr. Jasmeet Singh JIMS Alumni
attended the event as Guest of Honor and judge of the event and awarded
the following awards:
The Best Panelist- Mansi Bisht
The Best Actor- Nikasha Rohira
The Show Stopper- Jagrit Sharma
The event wrapped up with awarding all the panelists, moderator and the
coordinator with mementos and certificates for their participation as well as
a vote of thanks to the faculty and the audience
