Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS) imparts professional education at under graduate and post graduate level in the fields of Management and Information Technology. From a very modest start, it has now acquired a commendable position as one of the premier Institutes of the country. Our PGDM program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and accredited from National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for excellence in quality education. PGDM has also been granted equivalence to MBA degree by Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Our MCA, BBA & BCA programs are affiliated by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Recently, we have started the PGDM in International Business and Retail Management- both approved by AICTE.
Surge is an annual management seminar started with the aim to create an interface between the professionals and students at the undergraduate level to help them closely understand management related issues, develop business acumen and prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead in their careers.
From the past five years, Jagan Institue of Management Studies, Rohini, has been organising this knowledge driven seminar on different issues that imparts specific skills and creativity by the golden words of wisdom shared by our eminent guest speakers. With an active participation from not only the college students but also from all the faculty members, guests and students from other colleges, the event become successfull as they grace the occasion in large numbers.
The objective of this year’s seminar is to discuss innovative business models and how they affect markets and networks. In particular, the objective aims to resolve the quandary of an innovator as to choose from distinctive business models for his endeavour. Furthermore it aims to unfold the advantages, disadvantages, challenges and impact of disructive innovation on the global economy.

Disruptive techniques have changed the way CEOs and managers around the world think about innovation and these models have been acknowledged as one of the most noteworthy and inspiring innovation ideas of the early 21st century.
Dilemma here is an innovators quandary as to make a decision in respect to serving the customers and succeeding by catering to their needs or to sweep the stage by going for an innovation that supports the future.
It is a fight of an innovative mind between the present and the coming of age and this dilemma needs to be resolved.
As cross sector innovation is an upcoming trend we are sure to see appliance of successful business models and strategies from one industry onto another.
In this regard, a seminar is organized by JIMS, wherein academicians, industry experts and some of the leading personaities will come up up together on a platform to discuss various business model, their challenges, impacts and ramifications, in turn clearing the air better for the coming of age pioneers. Also we are going to touch bases from various prominent industries like tourism and hospitality , food, education and training, online transportation etc. and understand better about their business models and the coming up innovations.
In particular, the seminar aims to resolve the dilemma among the undergraduate student of JIMS who are going to be the future entrepreneurs and reformers.
