JIMS Rohini organized a guest lecture on “Banking Landscape and Opportunities for Retail” on 21stJanuary, 2020 for the students of PGDM-Retail Management (Batch 2019-21). The resource person of the session was Mr. C. M. Khurana, Chief General Manager (Credit) India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited & Ex Chief General Manager – Oriental Bank of Commerce. The workshop began with interaction between students and Mr. Khurana where he explained the banking concepts and various primary and secondary functions of banking institutions. He provided insight of current banking scenario to the students. The discussion revolved around connecting the banking business with retail functions and he explained to students that banking is more of retail function; and told students regarding the opportunity available in the banking sector. Students asked their doubts and queries towards the end of the session. Overall it was a great practical and real life learning experience for the students and will also help students in understanding the new opportunities available in the banking sector.
