Program Overview

The two year PGDM- RM programme aims:
  • To provide students with the comprehensive understanding of the theoretical and applied aspects of Retail Management along with other functional areas such as Marketing and Finance.
  • To equip students with the practical, research and analytical skills necessary for a professional management career in the retail trade or an allied sector. The curriculum has been designed keeping into consideration the requirement of Retail industry as well as operations of other industries such as Banking, Telecom, Insurance, Consumer Durable, Hospitality etc.

It helps meet the growing demands for the professionalization of retail management by developing managers with the practical skills and intellectual ability to succeed in this fast-paced and global industry. The course provides a detailed knowledge of the concepts and processes involved in retailing and allied sectors. It covers both theoretical and practical approaches relevant to best practice in the international retail business. Students will learn to apply and evaluate appropriate techniques and frameworks that lie at the heart of successful retailing, while a range of non- retail modules gives the opportunity to specialise in areas of particular interest to students and their career. Student will learn important business skills such as budgeting; problem solving, consultancy and team management. From the very start of the course students will have the chance to learn from retail professionals. Field trips give the opportunity to explore different types of retail environments and meet practising managers. Guest speakers regularly invite to discuss curriculum topics, to provide professional insights into contemporary issues. The skills and knowledge gained on this course will make you a highly valuable asset in the retail, marketing and banking sectors.
