A business plan competition gives birth to the start-up. It enables the entrepreneur and the team to envision and plan how the business will be run and how funds will be raised. The business plan addresses the needs of both the investors and the entrepreneurs because both have a similar objective- creating a successful business. JIMS organized a Business Plan presentation contest for its first year students. They were given two weeks to make and present their plans. A preliminary round of screening was undertaken section wise to select three best teams from each section. Final competition was held on 21st Jan, 2010. Two eminent judges- Mr. Vijay Mangla, Proprietor of Mangla Groups and Mr. Suman Raj Khurana, Proprietor of Sarv Mangalam Industries; who are already successful in the field of entrepreneurship screened their proposals and guided them about scope and future prospects of the chosen line of business. A total of nine teams presented their business plans. Three best business ideas were chosen and were awarded with certificates and cash prizes.
