Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Sector 5, Rohini began its flagship programme PGDM (Full Time), 2012-14 Batch with fervor and enthusiasm on Tuesday 3rd July, 2012. The Orientation Programme commenced in the name of almighty and paying tribute to Late Sh Jagan Nath Gupta founder Jagannath Memorial Education Society. Director General Prof R.P Maheshwari enlightened the audiences with an inspiring and motivational speech. In his welcome speech he introduced the students to JIMS Family and gave a brief introduction about the college.

His words of wisdom were “Aiming high to reach the pinnacle of success, realize your true potential, to reach to the top. The speech highlighted the aspect of hard work and constant dedication and a focused approach towards achieving your aim. The students were maneuvered approaching towards a hard work related strategy. The students were briefed upon the need strategy wherein they should be goal oriented not task oriented. They should be work motivated not job seekers. The power of being focused and following the right approach is the success mantra.

Some of the key highlights made at the Orientation Day were:

• Ability to learn, unlearn and re-learn
• Time Management and focused approach
• The mindset “ You can do it”
• Being ambitious and innovative

Such positive thoughts were shared with the students and parents. Director, Dr.J.K Goyal addressed the audiences with his charm and eloquence. His speeches have always enthralled students and this time it took the shape of entering into“Wedlock” with JIMS Family. He underlined the idea behind choosing JIMS and undergoing the competitive selection procedure. He also mentioned the concept of ROI (Return on Investment) wherein the parent’s investment would be nurtured to the best. At the same time he stressed on the aspect of making business from the first day when they enter JIMS, where the students should be disciplined and be focus oriented and starts classes from the first day. He also mentioned that successful placements records both at qualitative and quantitative aspects have taken place at JIMS even at the time of slow employability growth in the country.

Director (I.T), Prof V.B Aggarwal also shared his thoughts and experiences with the audiences. The key aspect of learning at JIMS under the flagship programme PGDM was highlighted. Working hard and achieving the goal was stressed.

Dean PGDM Dr Madan Mohan gave the Vote of Thanks & shared his experiences with the 20th Batch at JIMS. He highlighted the importance of the programme and wished students for a successful career and stay at JIMS. Also, parents who came to attend the programme were given due respect and their presence at the programme was acknowledged.

Overall the programme was a kick start for the PGDM students and parents were their high hopes and aspirations received a great new beginning.
