Students of PGDM went for anindustrial trip to Bisleri manufacturing plant in Kirti Nagar, New Delhi on29th October, 2013.
Bisleri is abrand of bottled water in India. Bisleri has 36% market share in packageddrinking water in India. It is available in 8 pack sizes: 250ml cups, 250mlbottles, 500ml, 1 litre, 1.5 litre, 2 litre, 5 litre, and 20 litre. Itsoperations run throughout the subcontinent of India and is one of the leadingbottled water supplying companies in India. As of 23 October 2012,Bisleri has 18 plants, 13 franchisees & 58 contract packers all over India.
Ms. Avantika Dwivedi (AssistantManager - HR) gave a presentation related to the history of Bisleri Plant. Shetold students about the Aqua Green Revolution. Aqua Green Revolution is anambitious dream of Bisleri that aims to contribute to a healthy future byproviding pure drinking water, ensuring access to basic education andfacilitate a balanced environment.
Further, a small documentary filmof Bisleri Plant was shown, which depicted the stringent 6-step purificationprocess and how finally the consumers enjoy the sweet taste of pure water.Students also interacted with the staff of the Bisleri Plant and were shownvideos of purification and packaging process of mineral water. The process inthe making is totally automated and is internationally designed keeping in mindthe hygiene standards.
Overall, the activity was highlyinteractive and it was a learning visit for the students on the conceptsrelated to production and operations within a manufacturing plant.
