Jagan Institute of Management Studies, E-Cell organized an interactive session on “Insight on the scope of Pharmaceutical Industry” on 11th September, 2013. The guest speaker for the event was Mr. Rakesh Kumar Mahajan, Dr John Pharmacy Pvt. Ltd. E-Cell leaders gave a warm welcome to the invited speaker.
Mr. Mahajan explained the opportunities and scope of pharmaceutical industry. He explained the career graph in the field of sales, the various positions of sales in the industry. He mentioned that India has a vast pool of trained pharmaceutical scientists, doctors and researchers for joint collaborative research for new drug discoveries. Also, the pharmacy sector in India has low cost of production and low research and development cost. Innovative scientific manpower and strength of national laboratories offer tremendous opportunities.
He also mentioned that companies like Lupin, Ranbaxy, and Cadila are leading successful players in India. Further the discussion led to Q & A session where students asked questions, one of the main questions discussed thoroughly amongst the students was the scope of online hospitals. Mr. Mahajan shared his experiences with the students which gave them an insight of the pharmaceutical industry.
