INDUSTRIAL VISIT to YAKULT MANUFACTURING PLANT

Students of PGDM (Retail) and PGDM (International Business) went for an industrial trip to Yakult manufacturing unit in Rai Industrial Area, HSIIDC, Sonipat on 15th July & 16th July, 2013. Yakult is a fermented milk drink containing 6.5 billion probiotic (friendly) bacteria and is manufactured at this plant.
Ms. Reena Dahia (Factory operations Manager) gave presentation related to the history of Yakult and its production, to the students. She also described the functions, benefits of the product and its presence worldwide.
Students were taken around the plant and were explained about the production and packaging process. Students also interacted with the staff of the Yakult and were shown videos of the drink. The process of making Yakult is totally automated and is internationally designed as per highest hygiene standards. Students cleared all their queries and were also given the drink to taste.
Overall it was highly interactive and learning visit for the students on the concepts related to production and operations within a manufacturing plant.
