Jagan Institute of Management Studies,
Sector 5, Rohini, New Delhi organized “SATURDAY TALK SERIES – XXVIIth ” on Saturday,
10th May, 2014 at its campus. The continuous faculty interaction
programme was an initiative by the faculty members to present their research
papers or any other similar activity with JIMS fraternity. The moderator for
the session was Mr. Jasmeet Singh, Faculty,
JIMS and the resource person for
the presentation was Mr. Dr. Deepak
Chahal, Faculty, JIMS.
The JIMS faculty and other staff
members from various departments attended the presentation.
The paper presented was on “Analysis of Social Media Analytics using
Software Tools.”
Social Media Analytics is an
on-demand offering that integrates archives, analyzes and reports on the
effects of online conversations occurring across professional,
consumer-generated and social network media sites. As a result of the
intelligence gleaned from this process, organizations can understand the
effects online conversations are having on specific aspects of their business
operations. The presentation highlighted
“how social media analytics can be
measures and integrated with business growth and revenue”
In his presentation he briefed about the various social media
platforms, social media analytics and the role of IT in evaluating the same
using various software tools.
The objective of the study was to
understand that monitoring helps provide greater customer service and detect
more buyer interest hence it becomes important for the organizations to adopt
tools that give them accurate, insightful and action oriented analytics to know
the customer behavior and their interest levels.
Overall, the presentation was
interactive and educative where there was something new to be learned and was
appreciated by the JIMS fraternity.
