"Zara interacts with the Retail students"
PGDM (Retail & Marketing) students had a great learning and fun on March 1, 2012, while interacting with the executives of world renowned Spanish fashion brand ‘Zara’.
Ms.Betty Hygrell (International HR) and Ms.Neha Malhotra (HR-India), Inditex (parent organization of global fashion brand Zara) visited JIMS, Sector-5, Rohini, Delhi campus for interaction with the faculty and students.
They were explained about the Retail & Marketing management programme that was introduced by JIMS two years ago looking into the enormous potential in this sector. Various unique and innovative features, subjects taught and teaching pedagogy of this course were told. The officials were also presented with various publications of JIMS that included academic and extra-curricular activities undertaken by JIMS, Sector-5, Rohini during past few months.
Students of PGDM (Retail & Marketing) gave a presentation to the dignitaries on the brand Zara, covering various aspects, beginning from its history, its associate products and brands, competitors, sales and distribution strategies and future plans.
Ms. Neha, in her address, told about the HR policies of Zara India and the opportunities offered by it to the students in terms of live projects, summer internship projects and final placements. Work culture and environment at Zara were also explained to them.
Ms.Betty in her address congratulated the students for the excellent presentation and the information provided in it. She told them about various strategies that are followed by Zara and that have made it to be among the top fashion brand globally. Strategies related to HR, supply chain, sourcing, designing, manufacturing, merchandising, pricing, etc. were discussed during the question-answer session.
Interaction provided a great learning experience for the students and enjoyment for the visiting guests.
