Jagan Institute of Management Studies organized a Guest Lecture on “Digital Marketing” on Saturday, 25th August, 2012 for its PGDM 2nd year (RMM) students. Ms Manisha with her vast 9 years experience in the area of Digital Marketing shared her expertise and knows-how of the same. She propounded and made relevant the topic of Digitalized Marketing which is all about CONNECTIVITY and is newly born in comparison with traditional marketing. She proposed that 41% in India is the online market share and has a vast potential. She stated that social media marketing & viral marketing as a medium is the aim of Digital Marketing. She explained that communication, research and selling are the tools for digital marketing. It is all about measurability and dynamism and targeting the right customer with the minimum cost intake.


She defined the world of digital marketing as a necessity which connects any business organization and its dimensions with the world. She explained the concept of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), SEM (Search Engine Marketing) & SMM (Social Media Marketing) which add to the aspects of DIGITAL MARKETING. The popularity and reach of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter has crossed boundaries with millions of users acquiring and entering the world of Digitalized mindsets. She also defined the roles of Video Marketing, Gaming & Mobile Marketing in comparison with digital marketing.

Students came to know about various opportunities and industry roles which were available like Marketing Executive, Social Media Blogger, Email Marketing Analyst, SEO analyst and SMM analyst in digital marketing. Lastly students learnt various corporate expectations in terms of Grooming, Communication & Behavioral aspects.

Overall, the session was motivating & educative and opened up various roles and the arenas in digital marketing.
